“Do you want to do something for the Lord? In the area of bookkeeping? If you are willing to serve Jesus with your gift, this is what we need.” - Onni
Required Skills
MediaWorks' bookkeeper has volunteered for over a decade in his retirement. As he thinks about really retiring, Onni gives potential bookkeepers insight into what the role involves, encouraging them to consider the position:
“Do you want to do something for the Lord? In the area of bookkeeping?” Onni asks. “If you are willing to serve Jesus with your gift, this is what we need. Some experience is good, but more importantly a willingness to learn.”
Onni describes his role at MediaWorks as standard accounting. The first year involves getting to know the team's processes, which are then similar each year. Reports are run from OM's database, and budgets set in discussion with leadership. The accounting is straightforward as there is a sound structure in place.
The part-time position has flexibility in schedule and should be during European work hours to allow for communication with leadership based in Austria and Switzerland. Onni typically visits MediaWorks' office near Vienna around three times annually e.g. in the first quarter he comes to prepare for the audit.
“I know that because I do this job, I make space for others on the team to do what is important for the spread of the gospel,” expressed Onni.

* The jobs listed on this website do not have a set salary. This means that the person who applies will need to raise their own support, which is money that they will use to live on. The amount of support money they need to raise will depend on things like where they are from, if they have a family, and what country they will be working in. There might be some jobs that pay salary, but these are rare and would need to be negotiated with the sending offices and the teams you'd like to serve with. If you have any questions about this, please contact your local home office. Always keep in mind that our ministry depends on generous giving from our partners around the globe and God's ongoing provision. Joining OM is always seen as a step of faith and trust in a God who will provide for our needs through his chosen people.
