ECTM lasts for two months with a boarding school format. The school consists of 4 parts: theory, challenges, community practice, and spiritual retreat This training prepare in different areas people who are interested in serving in the mission field is for people who are interested in going out to do missions, locally or internationally.
The cost of training includes:
- Accommodation.
- Materials.
- Food.
- Ministerial trips.
- The participant is responsible for the cost of tickets to the training site and the application for visas if necessary.
- Program available for Spanish speakers.
- The total cost of the program is 1300 USD

As part of our Safeguarding policy, you may require a valid enhanced DBS certificate, which may cost up to an additional £30.
It is highly recommended you attend OMUK's Getting into Gear weekend (GiG) in Shropshire either in the May or October before your placement. This is a time of training and preparation and costs an additional £75. Please enquire for details.
What To Expect
The school consists of 4 parts:
- The first part of ECTM, theory, is 4 weeks of intense classes. Participants learn about things such as the different world religions, Biblical foundations, fundraising, and different types of cultures.
- The second part of ECTM, challenges, lasts for one week. Each day the participants face a different challenge.
- The third part of ECTM, community practice, is two weeks. The participants travel to a community in Ecuador which is less reached by the gospel. They get practical experience in sharing the gospel.
- The fourth and last part of ECTM is a week of spiritual retreat. The participants go away to a location, and this is a time for participants to relax, rest, pray, and read the Bible. There are group activities such as listening to a speaker and studying the Bible together. Participants have time to reflect on the past two months.

Age Range: 18-70

- Demonstrate love for Jesus and his work.
- Be flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn.
- Have a good testimony.
- Be able to work in a team and under pressure.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will there be accommodation provided?
Participants are accommodated in shared rooms, separated for men and women.
Will there be food provided?
Meals will be prepared in groups by the school's own participants. You are expected to be able to consume most of the food. Please inform us in advance of any special dietary needs.
Do I need to make my own travel arrangements?
Participants from abroad and/or other provinces of Ecuador must plan their arrival in Guayaquil on their own, either by land or air. OM Ecuador will pick them up at the terminal or airport, as appropriate and if necessary.
What should my health condition be like?
Participants must be in good health and able to perform typical household tasks, play with children and young people and walk a reasonable distance without difficulty.
Do I need a visa?
Foreign participants should inquire in person about the requirements or whether a specific visa is required to enter the country.
